The IP Monitor/ICMP Ping is the heart of B4Failure, as this is usually used as an dependen monitor, to avoid faulty alerts when a network or server is down.
It basically allows you to check ICMP ping responses from your equipment, including HSRP & Backup relay designed systems (using a simple reply list).
When the monitor fails, the email notification can include a trace route to the destination system.
